so jumping off of what was said in a bunch of other threads, what if the ladybug earrings and the chat noir ring are things that have been passed down through a ton of generations?
what if there's been many cycles of ladybugs and chat noirs and the chat noirs always have the goal of getting a kiss from the ladybug and breaking their bad luck but none of them have succeeded so far?
and what if the whole bad luck curse is also causing villains like pigeonman and the mime to show up?
(wild mass guessing wheeee)

Haha, mass guessing is always fun.
Seems a little far-fetched but it would make for an interesting idea.

I don't know, if it's put wrong it'd fall into cliché, but what if it's succeeded* way before just once?
Although imagining all of that during the 20's... oh my... I need a fan

This reminds me so much of DNAngel with the entire repeating love curse thing Dark has on the Niwa clan It can happen in ML and I love tropes like this although it's kind of cliche. What if there's something more to the cycle and it doesn't just end when Chat Noir gets a kiss from Ladybug? Maybe it also requires their real life counterparts to kiss/fall in love as well...

Would that cause generations of incest?

Maybe the cycle is every determinated number of years so that doesn't happen?

Hmm, now I have a rather interesting question. I was just rewatching the trailer now and noticed something. The only time we see Marinette with her transformation earrings is 1) When she IS transforming and 2) When she's Ladybug.
Likewise, the only time I saw the ring on Felix's finger was when he was transforming. (Although I watched the trailer really closely and there's only one instance where we kind of see his right hand otherwise, so that's still an uncertain.)
Hmm. If those are what they use to transform, why wouldn't they wear them all the time? Admittedly it makes it a lot easier for people to recognize you, but it seems vulnerable to take them off.
And if there's some kind of "curse" thing going on, that leads me to think they wouldn't be able to take them off.
Thoughts?

From the Zagtoon site itself. "Yet there is one condition : they* have to be worn in an altruistic manner, or else, beware of the consequences!" So for Ladybug, I think she can only put them on when she or someone else is in danger. I believe Felix is the one cursed, not Ladybug as well. Whether he can take the ring off or not, I imagine he would still be followed by the black cat spirit until the curse is lifted.

Haha, just seems kind of inconvenient to me (someone who wears jewelry like rings and earrings) to carry them around when you're not using them. I hate having loose jewelry, like, in my pockets or something--I'm always afraid of losing it.

I have an idea for that one.
Maybe at the beginning of the video where she doesn't have them on is because she hasn't got them yet and she receives them (but doesn't put them on yet) when the sprite shows up with her.
Where she sees Felix for the first time it doesn't look much as if he's wearing it so I don't know how to explain that one.
Although when she's behind the tree it doesn't look like she has them on so she might take it off and on at her will because of the altruistic purpose of the earrings and at that moment was more like something for her.

Laharl: "If ya can't afford to lose it, don't carry it around."
On-topic, I think you're right. In that scene it looks to me she just met the spirit for the first time.

Asking something related to that
When Felix becomes Chat Noir the ring doesn't appear, is because of the suit right? Or what do you think?

I'd assume it's underneath the suit. You can see Ladybug's earrings when she's transformed.
And yeah, I agree that she doesn't have the earrings right at the beginning.

yeah, it's probably under his suit, I was making note of that a few days ago Either that or it's put into Hammer Space while Chat's transformed. I know for a fact that running around doing athletic things such as climbing on rooves etc can lead to rings, epsecially bulky ones, inevitably getting hooked or caught on something and either pinging off or taking your finger off in the process. I doubt Chat needs that kind of hindrance. :b
