I cannot even imagine the massive headache their marketing people must be having with the constant name switching

The new trailer has the show's logo being the same as what we've seen before, "Miraculous Ladybug". I wonder if that's what people will be calling her on the show too. I like the addition of Miraculous. It makes her sound more heroic, like The Amazing Spider-Man or The Incredible Hulk.

From what I remember, it started out Miraculous Ladybug, then at some point the articles switched to calling it Ladybug, and now they're referring to it as Miraculous? But the logo hasn't changed.
It's getting picked up by a lot of countries and studios, which I think is what caused it to be stuck in development hell for so long, so maybe it's the result of the differing marketing attempts of a bunch of different studios? Maybe it's regional? I'm not sure.

Original planned title when it was going to be a 2D Japanese anime was Ladybug. When it was changed to be a 3D western style CGI animated show, it was changed to Miraculous Ladybug. Now as it approaches time to release the show for broadcast on TV, they have changed the name of the show to Miraculous: Ladybug and Cat Noir.
Keep in mind, these are title changes, not character name changes. The protagonist's "superhero name" is still going to be Miraculous Ladybug, unless the company officially puts out a press release that says her name has been changed.

I wonder, what are your sources for this? It sounds pretty different from what I remember going down while the show was getting ground through dev hell, but I was never a primary information-scrounger either.
If it helps put things in perspective, it was never even originally a Japanese anime exclusively. Mostly the creative forces were in France, with collaboration in both Japan and Korea. I have no idea how much that's changed by now, though.

Well, the oldest known promo video has the Youtube title "Ladybug PV", rather than "Miraculous Ladybug PV" (though more recent uploads of this same anime PV mistakenly call it "Miraculous Ladybug PV"). Most of the 3D CGI trailers (which obviously came after the old anime PV) have the full name "Miraculous Ladybug" in their Youtube title. And lastly, the most recent name that has appeared in press releases (as recent as this month) is the long name "Miraculous: Ladybug and Cat Noir".
