I contacted the artist Winny whom I found was on Pixiv, and he had some news which he must've thought would cheer me up, but as far as fans of the anime version like myself went, only made me pretty disheartened.
Regarding Ladybug. I hope you'll like the show.
But know that it's a real fight to go against the broadcaster and producers.
They all want à project for six year olds so ... Thomas (the director) and me did what we could.
I'm sure it will be a succes. I also think that it will be a lot different from the first 2D teaser of Toei animation.
At least there is real fight, real relationship real love and lot of fun.

I felt my heart sink when i read the last part. It's sad to hear that the producers and broadcasters have so much power over the show. But i'm happy to hear that Thomas and Winny still tried their best.

I guess that explains the sudden change of civilian Adrien's look and personality.
Anyhow, I'm still hoping for some news about the 2D webseries. If it's still happening.

To be honest, I wouldn't hold my breath, especially because of his comments about the series being different from the 2D version, I don't believe he would make a statement like that if those were still in production.
