I'm tired so I'm going to repost most of this from tumblr:
Here’s some news you guys will be happy to hear about:
Annecy Animated Film Festival Preview: From Smurfs to a Little Prince (Photos)
Here’s what it says on Ladybug:
"ZagToon’s highly-anticipated animated series Ladybug has been in the works since 2010. The story of the star-crossed teens Marinette and Adrien – high school students by day, superheroes by night – who fight crime across a dazzling Paris is co-produced by Disney Channel, Method Animation and Japan’s Toei Animation with a budget of over $50 million. It will debut on France’s TF1 later this year, ahead of a global rollout in over 52 countries. A feature-length film, games, apps and retail merchandising are also in the works."
Well…for one thing, 50 million is quite a bit bigger than 12 million (the last statistic I saw.) If this information were coming from a less official source, I would disbelieve it outright. But it’s not. 0_0. I guess partnering with Disney really helped increase their budget.
Even better is the tidbit assuring us that it will premiere in on TF1 in 2014, so it would seem that recent press release that said Ladybug would come out during quarter 2 of 2015 were referring to it’s international release and not it’s debut in France.
Like goddammit why would u make an ambiguous press release in the first place.
I guess this corroborates the latest article Gloob made. And also what Hari said about them airing promotional content this summer if they could air it this year. Let's all keep a look out, because ladybug keeps hitting these tradeshows.
the only weird thing is i couldn't find any mention of ladybug on the annecy website, for this year at least... But... the Hollywood reporter is pretty much as official as they come.
idk im sleepy @_@ goodnight ladybros.
