I've been doing some research and there's still some confusion about the length of the episodes and how many there actually are.
The wikipedia cites that the series is slated for 52 13 minute-long episodes (which seems to be an odd format; however, it's not unheard of, because Hetalia follows the same format).
But I've found numerous other sites that claim that it's going to run for the more traditional 26 episodes running for approximately 26 minutes each. To be honest, I'm leaning towards the traditional format, but we won't know until the official site comes out.
Coincidentally on my travels, I've found quite a few French anime 'purists' claiming that ML is just a, and I quote, 'bastard style, with bastard character designs.' I'll post their full comments in the "Baby's First Oopsie" thread.

I'll admit I'd be a little disappointed by a 52x13 format instead of a 26x26 because that makes me think the episodes would be more self-contained and not part of a story arc
But if there's one thing we really know about Ladybug it's that it it's far from the norm, so maybe they can pull it off well.

If it's into the mahou shoujo style they say then they will likely use the 26x26 format.
I mean the only one I know it was 13 minutes per chapter was Mirmo!

Well, if they go with 52x13 I hope they do some episode purely about intercharacter relationships, some about the butterfly plot and some about random filler against the rogues gallery. Fitting a combination of those in 13 minute episodes is impossible.

Clarifying the format thing: To split episodes into 13-minute segments is much like what most animated shows do. (One segment before commercials, the other afterwards. Think like what's on Nick shows like Spongebob Squarepants or the Fairly Oddparents, or Panty and Stocking if you want an anime example, granted it wasn't on TV.)
To do a 13-min format would seem like a better idea if they didn't have a somewhat regular plotline going. To do a 26-min format would be better suited if there was a desire for a regular plotline and much to show for that plotline or whatnot.

Huh, the current version of the Wikipedia page (assuming you mean en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ladybug_%28anime%29 ) Doesn't mention the 52 13 format at all, as far as I can tell, and the Zagtoon link on it says 26x26, although I don't know if they just mean two 13 minute segments wrapped up into 26 minute 'episodes' or not. Do you still have the citation with the 52 13 claim? I'd be very interested to look at it.

Oh, you're on the French wiki, I should've thought of that. Of course they wouldn't cite the source in the article, that'd be too easy. Well, while Adventure Time has made me rethink what can be done in even 11 minutes with regards to story, I still hope they'll pull through with 26 minute long episodes. It just gives the plots more time to unfurl. Edit: HTML, my old nemesis.
