I think one of his scenes is a shout out to the Incredibles. Quoted from the TVTropes page for Miraculous Ladybug. "A French mime villain detonating a building? Now where have we seen that before?" I'm kind of hoping the whole series will be jam-packed with pop-culture and other movie references. The detonation scene may just be a coincidence and Tropes is reading too much into it, but I like to think there'll be plenty more similar references :>. I want to call Mime something sophisticated like Monsieur Mime but then I remembered that's a pokémon :U

Eh.. I have mixed feelings about that. It is France so yeah. Probably a coincidence.
The Mime. 'Nuff said. "A character whose name is just as mysterious as his powers."

We might never know about the Mime until further in the plot revealing.
Although he looks like one embarrassed to see Pigeon Man around

We might never know about the Mime until further in the plot revealing. Although he looks like one embarrassed to see Pigeon Man around I can imagine Mime and Ladybug duking it out on some rooftop and suddenly Pidgeon Man appears and starts being really weird/playing the fail hero or villain and the only words Mime will ever utter in the series will be: "Ugh. Not you again."

OH MY GOD THIS THREAD. THIS THREAD. I JUST SAW THE PIGEON-MAN TRANSFORMATION SEQUENCE. *rolls on the floor laughing*
Not much to add apart from that really, you said it all. Funny henchman - competent and scary henchman combo. Not so certain Mime and Monarch necessarily work together though. I could see the Mime being an independent criminal, a thief or something - he might be blowing up the Louvre to steal masterpieces. You know, Pigeon Man would be the silly, pretty non-threatening antagonist, Mime would become a serious but still isolated threat, and then Monarch the Big Bad has bigger plans - like the destruction of Paris or something. Typical escalation. And the part where we see him and the Mime talking might be them teaming up towards the end of the series. Or Mime is indeed Monarch's right hand man and that's just normal bad guy talk. No way to know yet.
I hadn't even really noticed the fight by day - very interesting ! I had hoped there would be some action parts during the day, Paris during the day is rich with possibilities.

Magical man transformation sequence. (key emphasis on man) I've never seen that before.
I'm still going with my Pigeon man theory from the 1st page of the Crackpot Theories thread. As for the Mime, I never thought of him being a rogue villain. Dunno why else he'd be blowing the top off the Louvre. Unless it was a trap for Ladybug and Chat Noir.
Or maybe the Monarch wants something from there. Gah, so many possibilities and so little info.
