I'm sure we all have a reason why this show excited us. What was it in the trailer that made you shake your computer and scream "I MUST WATCH THIS!"?
For me it was a combination of the really pretty art and animation, and the fact that it seems to have a different feel to it than other magical girl shows. Seems more action-packed. 0u0
What about y'all?

The designs were pretty, plus the leads were adorable- Chat Noir's face when she turns him down is priceless, and the little expressive ahoge heart is just D'aaaw. And I like the idea of a superhero powered by luck and who seems to enjoy being one.

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I just LOVE the magical girl genre. Grew up with it and rekindled my love for it as an adult! The animation is simply gorgeous, and also I really appreciate the cutting and song choice of the trailer. I think it was able to convey some of the important plot points of the show without really giving much away specifics-wise. The trailer just succeeds in making it look very well-made, with a lot of care and detail. It feels familiar and yet also new and refreshing. Plus, I think a lot of us are excited about it being a new location--Paris! (Of course, because it's a joint effort between a FRENCH company and Toei.) So I'm anticipating some new spins on a beloved genre.

Other than the fact that I also love magical girl animes, it reminds me a lot of Princess Tutu.
I don't know if it's the foreign setting, the stray hair on Marinette's head and her clumsy demeanor, or just the fact that both are completely ADORABLE.
And I really love Princess Tutu, it has about the same episode span and I hope Ladybug will be just as great >//v//<

The animation really caught my eye the first time I saw it, and for some reason I can't stop watching the PV.
Also, one of my favorite romance tropes is "Loves my alter ego" and it looks like it's going both ways this time! I've never been this excited for a new anime before.

Beautiful animation, a seriously catchy song, and a quite popular animation studio being a part of the team producing it.
The only thing I don't like about it is the wait.. But I'll deal with it. SOMEHOW.

The fusion of mahou shoujo and superhero interests me. Then I found out that Chat Noir is a mahou shounen which made me love ML even more. Also, I just love how this is like a perfect marriage between Japanese anime and Western animation~

For me it was the animation, Chat Noir and the music. The first and the last just scream "work of love". This isn't your run-of-the-mill cut-and-paste anime, this seems different, interesting, and thought out.
Chat Noir because he's a real cool dude, and I totally want to be like him.

I'll admit, what first drew me in was the romance.
Since then I have been shipping Lucky Charm even harder (ajbdhusfiuwr they're such dorks) but I've also picked up on other things - the gorgeous animation, for one thing. I loved how they animated the snow, I think that was beautiful.
Then, I noticed the character designs. I mean, how could you not love Chat Noir's bell and belt-tail? Also, I couldn't stop laughing at Pigeon Man's costume. And how he acts.

They make an adorkable pair, totally shipping it.
Pigeon man is a riot, maybe he'll have a verbal tic where he coos like pigeon every now and then.

For me, it has two things I'm not a fan of: magical girls and cat boys.
But this is a huge exception! Chat Noir is so interesting and LadyBug I can tell will not be like other magical girls.
Plus the french culture and signs! And well, the story of them and their "unrequited love" XD

I have a feeling that Pigeon Man is going to be one of my favorite characters.

The fusion of the superhero and magical girl genres seems fascinating, and the few samples we have of the rogue's gallery (A pigeon man, a master-planner with a high-scale symbol and clear means, and a freakin' Combat Mime) are icing on the cake. Honestly, I'm getting the vibe of high potential from this whole setup, and keeping in mind how much I enjoyed Code Lyoko as a child, I have very high hopes for this series.

You probably already know this, but that music you hear in the PV was done by the same person who made the theme for Code Lyoko, Noam Kaniel.
