So here's a headcanon on the (seeming) mastermind behind the psychic mime dude's attacks. Very rich and old french family, possible pre-Revolution nobility. Harbours resentment for the bourgeois (aka Ladybug) and has a single son, who was raised as an antisocial loner, who has blond hair, and just inherited an old magical cat ring (you can see where I'm going with this) The BBBD (Big Bad Butterfly Dude) wants to rid Paris of all landmarks that aren't of the French nobility (pure speculation, no knowledge of french landmarks) and hires PMG (Psychic Mime Guy) to do the dirtywork cause you know, he's ABOVE that kind of stuff.
Thoughts?

This sounds like it would be a great plotline. Has much information been released on Marinette's family yet?
I'm being built up for so much.

I know her last name is Cheng and she's got blue eyes, so I'm assuming she's half-Chinese. (Yaaaay for stealing ideas from mu headcanon blog!) She also inherited the Ladybug earrings, so multiple generations of this kind of thing have been happening, maybe?
(It's okay if it doesn't live up we can just write our own show and pretend the animation in the real thing matches up.)

Maybe there's been several Ladybugs, then? And several Chat Noirs if the headcanon is close to canon? maybe it'll be like el tigre with a long line of two super families yes

Sorry I didn't know you had actually said that headcanon already, I didn't mean to steal! They just both looked so... Classy, they had to be connected

Sorry I didn't know you had actually said that headcanon already, I didn't mean to steal! They just both looked so... Classy, they had to be connected I stole that one idea from my blog that somebody else originally came up with and submitted. If you were the first one to come up with it, please don't apologize, 'cause it was your idea! (And if it isn't your idea, submit it anyway and try your best to give credit where it's due.) But what about the theory that Felix is the grandson of Mr. Fancy Rich Obviously Bad Guy? I think that one was on TVtropes? In that case we've got generations of good and evil going on.

For some reason I really don't see our Big Bad (assuming that is who the old man is) being related to Chat Noir (or Felix or whatever we're going to call him). I wouldn't have much of a problem if he was, provided it was written well, but somehow I don't see it happening.
Though one thing I am curious about is the whole butterfly motif. Butterflies in fiction are often used to symbolize rebirth and regeneration, so I wonder if his motives/the plot overall will have something to do with that?

Maybe he wants Paris to undergo a metamorphosis or somesuch?
On the monument thing- possible, but it looks like the building Mime Guy was blowing up was the Louvre. Considering it used to be a royal palace, it could still fit (maybe he doesn't want it open to the public, or wants to destroy it for its connection to Napoleon III), but it seems less likely.

He wears a mask, so he doesn't want to be recognized, but he had the huge light show, so he wants attention....My headcanon says he's part of the government/a person of high social status, and he wants to overthrow his comrades, but he doesn't want them to know it's him.
Or an outlawish figure, like Amon in LOK. But the money needed for the blimp and such makes me think otherwise.

Don't remember who said it, but I think "The Monarch" fits him. Until the villain's name is officially stated, I vote for that. What about you all?
Side-note. He sure knows how to pick minions, very peculiar ones..

WAT.
(not the name, that outfit is just wow)
He does need a butterfly themed name though. Both sound good.
